Explore Derawan (Part IV)

Today is our last day in Derawan Island. I woke up early at 4.30 am because I didn't want to miss the last sunrise in this charming island. I really enjoyed the atmosphere when the early morning sun rising over the ocean and makes the grains of sand look like flecks of gold.

After staying for 3 days, I feel like , I don't want to leave this place.  It was a perfect retreat for us and we absolutely loved almost everything in this place but all good things must come to an end, we should prepared to be transferred back to Berau and continue our journey back to Jakarta. After breakfast, we enjoyed a quick dip in front of our cottage and did morning walk to the village, when the clock is showing 10 am, we continued our trip crossed the sea by boat to Berau.

In general, we were amazed by the pristine beaches and the rich biodiversity in Derawan archipelago. Clear blue skies, fluffy white clouds, calm and clear turquoise water and clean white powdered beaches. We were so lucky that we came during the low season because it felt as if we owned the whole islands to ourselves.

Several things that Derawan lacks are difficult transportation and hard to find good food. Other than that, this place truly deserves to be called the Maldives of Indonesia.
